La Barranco Films and Mousiké work together on an audiovisual memory installation project for the Memory and Heritage House André Abet in Sant Laurent de Cerdans, France.
The museum is a space dedicated to collective memory, located within the walls of an old factory, which holds the “treasures” with which the life and history of the town have been built. The museum compiles the crafts related to iron (reconstruction of an old forge), wood, weaving and the manufacture of the espadrille (reconstruction of an old factory), and also presents the exodus of the Spanish republicans in January 1939 and its passage through the town.
The video-installation focuses on the history of the town and its espadrille factory, as well as the history of the Republican Retreat, how it marked its inhabitants and also how the town lived it.
