Palmira Jaquetti, songs of celebration sheds light on the research and work of the catalan folklorist Palmira Jaquetti, during her research missions for the Traditional Catalan Songbook of Popular Music. Popular folklore music carries the history of small towns; these songs communicate the people’s way of life, who they are and what their problems, interests, and values are….Palmira Jaquetti knew this and thanks to her accute literary instinc, her education and her talent for writing, reading and poetry, she was able to make the long journey through these small and almost forgotten Catalan towns. Her diary is a treasure that has been hidden for the last 80 years, in which you can see the enthusiasm she brought to her expeditions as well as the joy she had for her work expanding this Catalan songbook. Thanks to her diary, today we are able to relive her adventure in great detail.
